THE WORK

ONE MONUMENT.

The Offline Declaration translates all 30 articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights into a monumental ceramic installation.

Every letter and number of the original text is represented by an individual tile.

The result is a physical interpretation of a document that belongs to everyone.

THE IDEA

WHEN WORDS BECOME MATTER

Human rights are often encountered as words on paper, in books, documents and declarations.

The Offline Declaration asks what happens when those words leave the page and become physical.

Clay, letter by letter, turns language into something tangible.

THE PROCESS

FROM TEXT TO TILE

Every letter and number is individually translated into ceramic.

Thousands of small elements come together to form one complete text, creating a process that is both precise and physical.

From the first tile to the finished monument, the work gives material form to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
